My writing world of late.
Here’s a peek into my writing world of late. Doubts come. One negative voice that keeps popping up is, you’re not a writer. You don’t have what it takes. There are edits, more edits, there’s the fog when you just can’t find your way to your next scene. When you do and the manuscript is complete, there’s writing the proposal and sending it off to a publishing house. Then comes the waiting.
What do we do with the negatives?
A nice idea to write for God, but… forget about it. Does this resonate with anyone? Maybe not so much about writing, but perhaps something else? What’s the truth?
Who does God say we are?
For this we go to scripture, the inspired word of God, which we can absolutely trust. As believers, our identity is in Jesus, and does not rely on us, our mistakes, or the discouraging voices. Right now, we are under another lockdown and are battling a lot of things. It may lead us to ask, who are we, and where is God? He is right there beside us, helping.
Am I a writer? Will my story ever get published?
Does it really matter? He is with me. Believing in Jesus, my identity rests in him. That alone should be enough to free me to write when doubts come. And enough to silence the negative voices. He constantly pours out his grace. Jesus took our failures, our shame, and our brokenness from sin, and paid the debt we owed.
What voice have you heard lately?
Does it point to God, his character, his faithfulness? Would He have you step out in faith, in gratitude, embracing your weakness, so he can present His strength? I hope to encourage you to believe God. Believe the Lord Jesus. We can trust him. His grace is sufficient. His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
Blessings,
Johanna
